Mid-America Regional CouncilMetropolitan Emergency Information System
The initiative in the Midwest region Greater Kansas City area called Metropolitan Emergency Information System (MEIS) uses i-INFO.EPR as the core system controlling the inter-agency security and shared applications between 165 agencies including:
- Planning & Preparedness Teams (emergency planners, managers..)
- Response Teams
(fire, police, hazmat, bomb squads..)
- Medical Teams
(EMS, hospitals, public health dept..)
- Recovery Teams
(Red Cross, Salvation Army, Public Works..)
- Private Businesses
(contractors, utility companies..)
|
i-INFO.EPR is currently being interfaced with Crisis Information Management Systems, badging systems and federal reporting systems to create an overarching solution to manage the entire emergency lifecycle (planning, preparedness, response & recovery). i-INFO is compliant with emerging federal standards for interoperability, including NIMS (National Interoperability Management System) and XML (Extensible Markup Language) developed by Emergency Interoperability Consortium.

Each demo is approximately 1 minute in length (Flash Plug-in required).
|
| Persons Demo Clip Review the person record and understand how the system automatically sends persons an email reminding them to update their data, photo, signature and attach important documents, like certifications. |
|
| Communications Demo Clip Learn how mass communications by emails, pagers and cell phones, are sent and stored within context (e.g. per asset, project or other specific record). |
|
| Documents Demo ClipEmergency planners try to coordinate meetings with regional personnel to develop emergency plans for their areas. However, it is not easy to communicate and release plans to all the persons that need to view them. In this demo, see how emergency plans, instructions, training materials, and other standard documents are being created and stored in an online library. |
|
| Assets Demo Clip (equipment, facilities, supplies)Police and fire dispatcher systems can dispatch police cars, fire trucks and ambulances. However, in emergencies situations that call for heavy construction equipment (and other resources), a regional resource library is necessary to provide visibility of resources to emergency managers and dispatchers. See how to quickly search for regional equipment available through mutual aid, and retrieve important specifications. |
|
| Collaborative Projects Demo ClipSee how emergency planning committees and teams are working together on-line, controlling the information they share real-time with others. See how multiple persons, from multiple agencies can work together on mitigation and other projects. |
